Fehmarn is the German island with the highest proportion of riders. It was in the Fehmarn RRV (riding association) that Torben Köhlbrandt earned his riding stripes.

Torben Köhlbrandt was 2006 regional show jumping champion of Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg and competed in several Nations Cups. His successes include first place in the international Grand Prix in Hamburg, Copenhagen, Barcelona, Prague and Hannover, as well as second place in the German Show Jumping Derby. Horses trained by him, such as Canturo, Concept and Chupa Chup achieved great success with Bernardo Alves (Brasil). Education and training are at the very core of his work.
